Welcome to a Sweet Start Monday, where I share current highlights of my sweetness: places, people, things in my life that bring me bliss. Let's all start the week by reflecting on the positive things in our lives!
Ruts. We are fall into them. And lately, I've been in a food rut. I just don't care or get as excited as I used to about meals and eating out; so I was particularly thankful for some changes in routine this past week. I made and ate my first dutch baby for dinner one night! It wasn't 100% perfect but I loved it nonetheless. I decided on a whole wheat savory version, topped with artichokes, roasted tomatoes, feta and kale. It was whimsy, filling and so easy to make! I can't wait to make a sweet version. Maybe covered in spring berries like this one? Garland and I also tried a new restaurant, Pig & Pearl, Saturday night. We haven't done this in months. I ordered the Oyster Rockefeller salad, he stuck with a standard Buffalo chicken sandwich. Thumbs up, but I really can't to go back for brunch...so. many. bacon. flavors.
Another thing we haven't done in months? Garland and I went on a run together! He'll always be faster, but I love the extra push he provides. Also, I can't help but feel extra loved knowing he's expending the time and patience to run with me! I'm still not running "freely", but am doing intervals of 10 minutes running, 2 minutes walking with an emphasis on increasing my cadence. I'm still just so thankful for the progress. And after watching the Boston Marathon today, I'm more determined than ever to train again!
Your turn! Tell me about your sweetness!
What are you excited, happy about or thankful for this week?
