Sweet Start Monday

Welcome to another Monday! This past week and weekend were extremely busy, so I'm starting today more exhausted than I'd prefer. But I wouldn't change a thing...

I got better at waking up early to get in some sweat at the gym in before work. As difficult as it is to drag myself out of bed, I love the way the world feels this time of day. So new and quiet. I'm still slowly building up my time on the cardio machines, taking care not to over-work my foot. It's frustrating to not have a goal other than "not pushing it too hard". Thankfully, watching the Today Show has been enough motivation for now.

Thursday was a Virginia Bloggers happy hour at The Tobacco Company. My social calendar always wanes in the winter months, making me forget how great it is to be around people. Especially being around bloggers, there's so much to learn from each other and be encouraged by! Also: great apps and blue champagne.

I drove home over the weekend to celebrate a sister's birthday. One of our activities was afternoon tea at the most incredibly pink & girlie place (Pinkadilly). It was AWESOME! I wore a big hat, drank an obscene amount of vanilla chai, and enjoyed teatime fare including quiche, soup, and the softest scones I've ever had. The birthday girl got a platter fit for a queen, complete with every mini sandwich and dessert imaginable. The sweetest part, however, was how good of sports my dad and little brother were. Also, I couldn't help but wish that afternoon tea was still a normal, daily occurrence.

In addition to birthday celebrations, I had the opportunity to participate in a friend's photo shoot. My responsibility was a pie bar for a "vintage sea" themed wedding. Although rather "rustic", the bar turned out so much better than I imagined! I can't wait to share the images with you.

Share your sweetness!
What's good, great, awesome in your life right now?
