[November Edition] Foodie Penpal Reveal

Woah, am I late on this post! As always, its better late than never. I'm especially sorry to be posting this late because I loved my package so much this month! It came from Dominique all the way in San Francisco, California :) I asked for local and seasonal treats, and she seriously delivered! The package included:

  • McEvoy Ranch Plum & Anise Preserves - Believe it or not, I've never had plums or anise before! I am excited to try them TOGETHER! I haven't opened the jar yet; but I plan to as soon as I get around to making some bread.
  • Pumpkin Spice Starbucks Via - This falls into the category of "stuff that I am too cheap/stubborn to buy, but wish I had everyday!" As much as I love local, a cup of Starbucks never fails to put some magic in my day. YUM!
  • Miette Gingersnaps - These cookies glitter. They are beautiful and snappy and spicy. Gingerbread is without a double my favorite flavor of the season. <3

  • Larabar Cashew Cookie - I love these things; but much like Starbucks Via, I don't buy them a lot. I like keeping bars like this in my purse to prevent "the hangries". Also, I've been all about cashews lately (Oh, you are too? Try this immediately.).
  • G.L. Alfieri Pumpkin Pie Almonds - THESE ARE THE BOMB! I'm having to ration them to prevent eating this bag in one sitting. The pumpkin pie coating is super thick and so perfectly spiced! I could eat a pound of these. Thank goodness Dominique sent me a sample :) Unfortunately, the bag's label has a website listed...and they have SO MANY neat flavors!
  • G.L. Alfieri Dark Chocolate Almond Brittle - This is an awesome combination of sugar, chocolate, and nuts. And I want to bake cookies with it.

Thank you, Dominique, for my amazing package!

And now here's my blurb about the program:

The Lean Green Bean

Sign up by the 4th of every month, receive your matchings on the 5th, and then ship your package by the 15th. On the last day of the month, you brag about reveal what you received from your Foodie penpal. The person you send your box to isn't the same person you receive something from, so you are getting to meet more than one foodie (its open to both bloggers AND readers!). Also, I should note, there's a $15 limit for your package, so it really encourages you to get creative and possibly get in the kitchen to make something yourself. Learn more and sign up for next month's swap here.

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed it! How have you never had plums!? Oh my goodness! Do I need to overnight you some fresh California produce too? =)
