Welcome to a Sweet Start Monday, where I share current highlights of my sweetness: places, people, things in my life that bring me bliss. Let's all start the week by reflecting on the positive things in our lives!

I <3 weddings. The love, the joy, the drinking, the photo booths! Also: chicken nuggets. Forget the custom beer koozie, handing out boxes of McD's chicken nuggets as you leave means happily ever after for all. Garland's sister got married last weekend and it was a blast. I'm so sad it's over. This past weekend was so boring in comparison...
What's up, spring veggies! Fresh, locally grown tomatoes are my favorite, followed closely by asparagus and sweet corn. They are so much more flavorful, vibrant and juicy than those from the supermarket. One of my meals last week was roasted lemon garlic tilapia and tomatoes on top of baked asparagus and pea risotto. It was awesome, but: Who else has had the unfortunate garlic + lemon juice = blue garlic situation happen to them? I always forget about the possibility and end up with moldy looking (but thankfully still edible!) food.
And: foam roller. I'm 26 years old and have been fairly active for probably the last 10 years or so, but up until 2 weeks ago, I'd never used one. To be honest, part of me was purposefully avoiding the foam roller pain that others often cry about. So far, it seems to be a good addition to my PT routine. My right knee and calf have been particularly stiff and causing me some issues. Yes, rolling is painful...almost comically so.
This past weekend was the RVA Swappers event for May. It was a smaller turnout, but it offered some great swappable treats! In exchange of blueberry pancake granola (coming soon!), I got vanilla salt, gluten-free coffee cake, strawberry black pepper jam, peach pie "moonshine" (vodka) and pickled onions (made with HOMEMADE apple cider vinegar!). We already popped open the onions last night at a barbecue. So, so good.
What sweet things are happening in YOUR life?
