Welcome to a Sweet Start Monday, where I share current highlights of my sweetness: places, people, things in my life that bring me bliss. Let's all start the week by reflecting on the positive things in our lives!
I don't know about you, but I have a whole bunch of pent-up energy coming out of this weekend. All Saturday and Sunday, it rained and rained. Thankfully the weather is supposed to be warm and sunny this week...FINALLY! I can't wait to get outside for some long walks and vitamin D!
Although the weather was gross, the weekend wasn't a total bust. My friend Amanda, who's a graduate student at Vanderbilt, paid me a visit. It was so great to catch up and have some girl time. She's vegan, so that also meant eating at some different restaurants (below: breakfast at The Daily Kitchen & Bar---their hash browns are a regular and sweet potato combo!). Another highlight was cheering on the Monument 10K racers. This was my first year watching from the sidelines and having company made it just as exciting, rather than disappointing.
Speaking of RUNNING: This Wednesday will be a big, big day for me. After almost exactly 4 months, I will be going on my first little run during my physical therapy appointment. I've been testing out my foot with some cycling classes and have also introduced some jumping into my at-home PT routine without any pain. While insanely excited, I'm actually pretty nervous...there's a lot of negative "what ifs" running through my mind that I'm trying not to focus on. But overall, I feel strong, confident and ready.
