Two great, celebratory things that are my total sweetness this Monday:
1) It's officially SPRINGTIME! It's true... The sun is setting later. Trees have begun to bud. I can feel my allergies flaring up (Welcome back, Zyrtec and AllergEase!). Peanut M&Ms in spring colors briefly found their way into my apartment---purchased in a moment of weakness at the pharmacy last week. Saturday was even warm enough for shorts during a bachelorette scavenger hunt I participated in. We went walking around the Fan gathering pictures of things like cyclists in spandex, dogs to pet, firemen to hug, and a polar bear to sit on. So fun. Also, I know I'm not the only one ready for warm weather foods and smoothies 24/7!
2) During last week's PT appointment, I got to try doing some "ankle pops" (small jumping). That's one step closer towards running! This past weekend I also went to my first cycling class since December. Both of these things are HUGE deals since it means my foot is healing and I'm progressing towards normal! The last week in particular I've been extra diligent about wearing supportive shoes and icing my foot after exercise / walking. Back in January, I thought there'd be a small chance I could be ready to run the Monument 10K coming up this coming weekend. I'm not quite there yet unfortunately, but to know that I'm getting closer will make Saturday a little easier to spectate :)
